DIY Chocolate/Orange Dry Shampoo

I must admit, I have spent a considerable about of money on dry shampoo over the last few years. The cheap kinds from CVS just don’t work very well or they leave flakes in my hair. I was pretty skeptical when I started seeing these natural recipes for dry shampoo on Pinterest but considering that I was paying around $15 a can every month, I figured it was worth a try.

Dry Shampoo for Brunettes:

2 tbsp. Arrowroot Powder (Bob’s Red Mill has a great coupon out right now)

2 Tbsp. Cocoa Powder

10 Drops of Sweet Orange Essential Oil

Just mix al the ingredients together and use an old cosmetic brush to apply to your hair. It smells great and works as well as the expensive powder I used to use. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s less convenient than the spray canister I was using before. Of course, considering that this costs less than two dollars to make, it seems worth the extra step of brushing it on my hair to me!
